The mechanism worked good, so I locked the safe. Cast iron casters were rusted solid, so I slid a floor jack under it to take the load off them and got them loosened up. So, we get it unloaded at my house and I dolly it into the garage. She is 92 and finally moving to a nursing home. Unlocked, door open, with the combination. Was setting out in this little old ladys' damp garage. I bet it's probably 50 or 60 years old at least. No real clue on it's age, but the safe was sold by some place (on decal) in Kansas City. Went a little crazy and paid $170 for the thing. About 2' x 18" x 18" and weighs about 250 pounds. No real name on it anywhere else except for the sellers name in a decal on the door frame. I bought this little fireproof safe at an auction sale yesterday.
